OUR LOCATION

The head office and full facilities of UK Truck and Plant Group are based in central Bedford- including our workshops and lorry parking. Just off the M1, Junction 13, our large 7-acre site is accessible for all vehicle types and clients.

Accreditations

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded an IRTE Workshop Accreditation, proving we are of the highest standards within the industry. This means we have been recognised for our excellent premises, equipment, staff and documentation (plus plenty more)!

We have also been SMAS certified and SSIP accredited, meaning we have an audited health and safety policy, risk assessment system and a dedicated health and safety advisor- demonstrating that our offices and workshops are completely safe for customers and staff.

We have also attained the certification for the Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015, a requirement for companies to show customers that you’re committed to quality products and services. Our business was audited and passed- proving we are all about customer satisfaction.

SUPPORT & SERVICE ARRANGEMENTS

Unlike many suppliers, we are available 7 days a week.

Our workshops are open all day Saturday and by appointment on Sundays , as well as attending to work overnight in the week too (by appointment).

Technical support for drivers in the event of a breakdown or query is available daily between 05:00-21:00 via phone (WhatsApp if a picture needs to be sent), text or email. This will be referred through to the workshop directly, allowing you to speak to a knowledgeable member of staff.

The on-site mechanics are contactable throughout the day via mobile.

Plus:

Free use of our online portal for accessing copy documentation and viewing planners for each specific vehicle, along with PDF documents for all works undertaken/carried out throughout the duration of the contract. DVSA Earned Recognition system, where documents can be automatically uploaded in exchange for Earned Recognition Scheme inclusion to remove roadside check requirements.

PLANT & EQUIPMENT

To demonstrate the confidence we have in providing the services you require, below is the list of plant and equipment available at our premises and on-board our mobile fleet vehicles:v

4 fully-equipped Mobile Workshop vans- all with Air Jacks, Compressor and Generator on-board
1 fully-equipped Mobile Plant Workshop Lorry with Hiab, 3-phase Generators and air compressor
17 smaller vans- for delivery and collection of parts across the UK and to sites, on either a supply-and-fit basis, or on a supply of parts-only
Full fleet of courtesy vans to cover smaller vehicles for regular servicing and breakdowns
Large 3-acre parking facility, which features brand new digital DVSA-compliant, surface-mounted brake rollers; for drive-through brake testing (suitable in all weather) of all vehicles up to 80-tonnes in weight and up to 9ft 6in in width
Large 10-tonne overhead crane in the main workshop area - for body swaps, fabrication and bodywork on commercial vehicles
32-tonne rated vehicle lifts, in order to lift most vehicle types in the air for safety inspections and repairs, with accompanying adjustable axle stands
Fully-calibrated, digital Torque Wrenches
DVSA approved and inspected premises
Large 4-acre workshop and plant yard, for storage and repairs on vehicles
Steam-cleaning bay

Large outdoor vehicle ramps for HGV's that cannot be lifted due to design/weight/load

Brand new air conditioning machines, to recharge and discharge air conditioning systems on both R134a and HFO-1234yf (from 2017 onwards) systems. Available for use in the workshop and on a mobile basis, and suitable for re-gassing cars, vans, trucks and plant, due to their capacity and extra long hoses
Hydraulic Crimping machine for making hydraulic hoses on-site and in the workshop
Waste interceptor fitted to washing area- for safe disposal of washing chemicals and dirt/oil residues from vehicles
On-site bunded oil disposal facility- emptied by external licenced waste contractors for Controlled Waste Disposal Compliance of engine oil and filters

The following diagnostic equipment is available for use across our customers’ fleets:

Two Jaltest 2019 Diagnostics kits, with all leads, suitable for all vehicles over 3.5t
One VOCOM Volvo Diagnostics laptop, at dealer-level access
Mercedes STAR Diagnostics laptop, at dealer-level access
Snap-On Ethos 2019 Diagnostics for commercial vehicles up to 7.5t
Autel Maxi 2019 Diagnostics for small and light commercials

MOT PASS RATE

The desired KPI (Key Performance Indicator) for MOT pass rate on Large Commerical Vehicles is 95%. There is no KPI set for the MOT Pass rate on Light Commercial Vehicles.
