Making Sustainable Choices
Re-using & Recycling
We have come a long way since our humble beginnings. Our vehicle workshops, including over 7-acres of truck parking and storage on-site, has grown a great extent since we started and still continues to grow. We are pleased to say that we can now cover all varieties of fleet vehicle, from the smallest of company cars, right up to excavators and tractors.
Here are some changes we have made and the difference they make to the environment:
1. Changing from single use plastic containers in the workshop, we will save 1664kg of contaminated plastic waste per year, equating to 9,984kg of Co2 saved.
2. Changing to bulk ad-blue, rather than buying small containers for our own light commercial fleet, we have saved 582kg of plastic, equating to 2329kg of Co2 footprint reduction.
3. Using local vegetables/fruit we save 124kg of plastic food packaging per year, and 560kg of Co2 saving on the fuel to travel for purchasing the food, let alone the air miles on the food itself.
4. Switching to re-usable gloves in the workshop, rather than disposable PPE, for those who wish to use them, we have reduced our carbon footprint by 83kg or Co2 per year.
It requires a concerted effort from individuals, businesses, and governments to develop and implement effective waste management strategies and promote a circular economy that minimises the generation and disposal of hazardous waste.
